Item Description
7-3/8x19.5" craft tint artboard w/pen and ink original art has three panel original art for strip #8070 from Oct. 29, 1964. First panel has National Periodical Publications, Inc. copyright strip (w/some moderate aging). Art by Wayne Boring, a comic book artist best known for his work on Superman from the late 1940s to the 1960s. First panel features Superman disguised as Clark Kent, using his heat vision to pierce a small hole in can of "Knockout Gas," which knocks out gangster. Second panel features great image of Superman ripping open Clark Kent's shirt to reveal the "S" symbol of his suit. Third panel features Superman removing unconscious gangster's mask and states w/Lois Lane being locked in closet, he can quickly rush to his headquarters to analyze the masks. Artboard has some lt. handling wear w/aging to margins. This doesn't intrude upon art and could be mostly matted out. Fine overall, but art still displays Exc. Franco Toscanini Collection.
