11.25x16-1/8" artboard has pencil original art by Gene Colan (1926-2011) w/inks by Alfredo Alcala (1925-2000) for Detective Comics #543, published by DC Comics Oct. 1984. Page is from Doug Moench's "Shadows Of Vengeance" Batman story and features four panels, showing Batman battling Nightshade's goons Schreck and Lee (a nice nod to film vampires Max Schreck and Christopher Lee). An axe soars through the air (on its way to kill Nightshade, who is not seen on this page), breaking fourth wall between third and fourth panels. Story page 13. Batman appears in all but last panel. All word balloons have been hand-lettered. Top margin has inked "Detective" title and issue/page numbers. Bottom margin has been signed in black ink by Colan. Back has DC Comics copyright inkstamp. Top margin has been trimmed and all corners have been clipped. Some lt. margin dust soiling w/strip of surface paper lift below Colan's signature, but o/w art remains clean and Exc. Lawrence Klein Collection.

We ship in the order paid—first in, first out. Thus, we begin charging orders as instructed by customers immediately following the close of the auction and continue to fill orders as they are paid.

Without exception, all special requests for “Rush Delivery” will incur a charge of $50.00 plus any additional shipping fee associated with the expedited shipment.
