Auction Closing Procedure

TELEPHONE/INTERNET BIDDING PROCEDURE FOR THE AUCTION

Our bidding/closing procedure has been updated as follows -

The earliest any item will close is at 9:20 PM Eastern on the published closing date of the auction.

EXTENDED BIDDING BEINGS AT 9:20PM EASTERN

At 9:20PM ET all lots will start an individual 20min countdown timer. Any lot that does not receive a competing bid for 20min will close. Any competing bid placed during the 20min countdown will re-set the timer to 20min from the time of the bid. Once any lot does not receive a competing bid for 20min it will close.

There is no advantage to waiting until the last few seconds to place a bid. Placing any bid after 9:20 PM Eastern resets the 20-minute clock for that item(s) and extends the bidding accordingly. This ensures equal opportunity and fairness for all bidders. Waiting until the last few seconds to bid may result in bids not being placed, and we highly advise against this strategy.

Not all pages of our website automatically update the current bid and time remaining. You must refresh the page frequently to ensure accuracy of timers even when bidding from an individual item page or your My Account page. When a lot is counting down to close, the clock will read 0s. To see if bidding on that respective lot has ended, refresh the page once it reads 0s as another bidder may have placed additional bids in the closing seconds, which will reset the 20-minute clock on that item. If bidding on the lot has closed, it will read Ended.

If the current high bidder raises their maximum bid once the 20-minute rule is in effect, the clock on that individual item will NOT reset - the clock only resets on competing bids placed after 9:20 PM Eastern on the published closing date of the auction.

The entire auction will close automatically when 20 minutes pass after the last bid is placed and no new bid is placed on any auction item. At that point, no new bids will be accepted, and each lot will be awarded to the highest bidder.

The best way to monitor when items could close during extended bidding is on an individual items page. Items you have bid on will show the time remaining within your My Account page. Using a modern web browser such as Chrome, Firefox, or Safari will result in the best experience while bidding on our website. If you experience difficulties in bidding, please refresh the page.
