Item Description
These impressive 12.5" tall marionettes are No. 154 (Mickey Mouse) and No. 100 (Minnie Mouse) of a limited edition of an unknown quantity produced as a Walt Disney Store exclusive where they sold for $250 (as noted by original store sticker on underside of Minnie's foot). High quality marionettes are replicas of the classic 1933 Mickey and Minnie Mouse marionettes produced by Hestwood Marionette Studio of Glendale, CA. and sold exclusively at Bullock's Wilshire Department Store in Los Angeles. Each has wood/composition body w/felt ears, velveteen pants w/mother-of-pearl buttons (for Mickey), fabric dress and felt hat w/fabric flower (for Minnie) and stuffed velveteen arms. Each is complete w/long string tail and wooden controller units w/original strings. Controller units have attached brass engraved plaques that have character name and edition number as well as text reading "Made Exclusively For The Walt Disney Company By The Bob Baker Marionettes." Underside of Mickey's feet both have Disney copyright and Minnie has incised Disney copyright. NM. Comes w/original boxes, Mickey marionette having original cardboard shipping sleeve, illustrated instruction sheet and reproduction of the original 1930s brochure. Shipping sleeve has original $200 price sticker. Box end has "Bob Baker Marionettes" label. Exc. Minnie marionette box has paper label on end, w/hand-lettered name and matching number. Also comes w/illustrated instruction sheet and reproduction of the original 1930s brochure. Exc. Extremely high quality marionette, few were made, possibly due to the high cost of materials and the time-consuming nature of producing such detailed marionettes.
