Item Description
8.5x10.75" typed letter dated Nov. 18, 1956. Letter is addressed to fan and mentions that their fan photo supply was exhausted at the time. Letter goes on to mention "I Am In The Process Of Filming A Small Bit Part On A Television Sitcom Entitled 'I Love Lucy.' I Have Been Told That Working With Lucille Ball Will Definitely Keep Me On My Toes." This episode (Season 6, Episode 13) was entitled "Lucy And Superman" and originally aired Jan. 14, 1957. Reeves' character is referred to only as "Superman" and he is not referenced by his real name or acknowledged as an actor. Letter is signed in blue ink above Reeves' typed name w/Reeves adding "'Superman'" character name underneath. Sheet is evenly aged and has some scattered lt. handling wear. VF overall. Comes w/Lucy photo from the episode Reeves mentions. George Reeves signatures are rare as the actor died June 16, 1959 and signatures w/"Superman" added are extremely rare, this is the first example of such we've offered in our 48 years. Comes with Hake's COA and JSA LOA. Franco Toscanini Collection.
