Item Description
9" tall award w/2-3/8" tall Bakelite base and attached 6-5/8" tall bronze finish cast metal Donald Duck statuette. Base has brass nameplate w/"To Eddie Fisher - Best Personal Wishes - Walt Disney" text. "Walt Disney" name is facsimile of Walt's distinct signature. Nameplate also has "1953" date and this award was presented to teen idol/pop vocalist Fisher the year his variety TV series "Coke Time With Eddie Fisher" (1953-1957) began. Statuette has some pitting to top of Donald's bill and top of one eyebrow and is evenly aged w/some scattered dust soiling. Nameplate has darkened patina. Bakelite base remains free of cracks/chips. Fine/VF overall. This was an in-house Disney award w/only a small handful of recipients (only 10 or so issued from 1952-1959, w/none known after that time), and only a couple have ever made their way to the marketplace. Rare.
