11x16-7/8" Al Rio Studios artboard has original pencil art of Superman lifting Amazonian warrior Artemis by the her throat as Supergirl looks on w/the Amazon island Themyscira's temples visible in bkg. Rio (1962-2012) was best known for his "good girl" illustration work, particularly on the comic book series "Gen¹³" and "DV8." He's also noted for his work on "Wonder Woman." Rio has signed at top right. Art is wonderfully rendered w/amazing details, giving the appearance of an actual comic cover instead of a specialty piece. Exc. Comes w/"Al Rio Art" business postcard that has been signed "Thank You! Al Rio 2007." Franco Toscanini Collection.
