Item Description
"Labyrinth" is a 1986 British-American musical adventure fantasy film directed by Jim Henson, executive produced by George Lucas and based upon conceptual designs by Brian Froud. The film's plot revolves around young Sarah's (Jennifer Connelly) quest to reach the center of an enormous otherworldly maze to rescue her infant brother Toby, who has been kidnapped by Jareth, the Goblin King (David Bowie). Excluding Bowie and Connelly, most of the significant characters in the film are played by puppets produced by Jim Henson's Creature Shop. Offered here is a large 86" tall staff weapon w/attached arm bearing a studded fabric standard that was created by the Jim Henson Creature Shop for use in the film. Weapon is topped by 20" tall sickle-shaped bladed axe-like foam latex head. This has been painted to give the appearance of metal and spear shaft has been wrapped in a multitude of multi-colored fabrics, string/twine and leather straps. Wrapped metal pole reinforcement at bottom. Fabric standard is tattered and shows wear w/a number of missing attached studs, but this blends well w/the overall distressed design of this prop. Foam latex weapon head has hardened w/age and has some scattered edge wear, which blends for the most part. As is, prop displays Fine overall. Similar weapon/banners appear throughout the film. Prop comes w/23.5x33" German movie poster for the film and 12x36" banner for soundtrack of the film, which shows moderate aging and just comes along.
