Item Description
Lot of three fabric items produced in the 1960s. 16x19" cotton twill Sahuaro Brand apron w/wide tie straps features image of woman wearing "LA" Dodgers baseball cap and holding large "Dodgers" pennant. Apron text reads "The Heck With Housework... Let's See The Dodgers Play!" w/exclamation point made of baseball bat and ball. Complete w/stitched-in cardboard tag at waist. Apron appears unused and is Exc. Next are two cotton twill banners, first is 16x22.5" and features Mr. Met-like baseball mascot at top w/"Dodgers 1965 National League Champs" text. This is above cloud at center reading "Murder The Minnesota Twins" that is surrounded by humorous text including "Kill Killibrew" and "Obliterate Oliva" among others. Text at bottom reads "1965 World Series - Charge!" Banner is lightly aged but o/w Exc. Second banner measures 15.5x25" and has "Dodgers War Cry Towel" text at top. Humorous graphics show negative cartoon images of the Dodgers' NL competitors, including "Moider The Mets" w/Tommy gun and dead "N.Y." player, "Poison The Pirates" w/dead Pirate head and bottle of poison and "Hang Houston," a reference to the Houston Colt .45s, a short-lived team, showing player wearing "45's" baseball cap hung w/noose, his boots to right. Banner has wooden dowel rod w/plastic end caps and braided rope for hanging. Lightly aged but o/w Exc. From the Paul Muchinsky Collection.
