Item Description
Impressive 13" tall marionette depicts Jiminy Cricket from "Pinocchio." No. 8 of a 1980s limited edition of an unknown quantity. Original issue price was $500.00. Hand painted wood/composition body w/velveteen pants, fabric shirt and jacket and stiff, felt-covered top hat and holds umbrella. Wooden controller unit w/original strings has attached brass engraved plaque that reads "Jiminey (sic) Cricket No. 8 - Made Especially For The Disney Company By The Bob Baker Marionettes." Underside of Jiminy's feet both have Disney copyright. Never removed from orginal plastic bag and ties. NM. Comes w/original box and original cardboard shipping sleeve, illustrated instruction sheet and letter from Jiminy. Shipping sleeve has two Bob Baker Marionette labels, one w/"Jiminy Cricket - #8" notation. Exc. Extremely high quality marionette, few were made, possibly due to the high cost of materials and the time-consuming nature of producing such detailed marionettes.
