Item Description
Complete set of 11 litho tin buttons each 1-3/8”. Ten feature a player with his name and club name along with an eleventh title button which reads “Member Hawthorne Mellody Club Of Champs.” Red Grange was the Executive Director of this club and they also issued a membership certificate, all in 1952. The set was acquired by submitting tabs from milk cartons (three) and twenty cents. These buttons are all NM to Mint with the exception of a little tiny paint rub area on the neck of player Bill Pierce. The buttons are neatly mounted on a purple beanie with product and club name on the front panel. Beanie is essentially Mint with the exception of the pinholes caused by the buttons. Players pictured are: Zarilla, Stewart, Rodrigeuz, Robinson, Pierce, Lollar, Fox, Dobson, Dente and Coleman. Scarce as a complete set and the beanie is a rarity. Paul Muchinsky Collection.
