Item Description
7" long by 5" tall painted pressed steel prototype gun has hand-lettered "Flash Gordon" name on right side and "Enemy Detecting Pistol" on left side. Top has separate die-cut arrow that allows for free movement and "detects" enemies via metal knob on underside of gun. Ornate raised sci-fi sight at rear. Marx, 1930s. Red paint shows wear w/some scattered flaking and aging. VG/Fine overall. This gun was ultimately unproduced and a similar design was eventually made into Marx's "Flash Gordon Signal Pistol." From the John Bowers Collection.
