Item Description
2.75x3-3/8" thin paper card, ©1941 Superman Inc. From a set of 24 issued for the Superman bread campaign and reverse has "Saylor's Bread - Coming Soon – Superman's Own Loaf - Watch For It" imprint. These were bread loaf inserts issued by several different bakeries. This is card #4 titled "Superman And The Torpedo" w/great scene of Superman swimming underwater towards speeding torpedo. Pledge stamp has been removed from the right margin. A complete set of eight stamps were to be sent in as enrollment in the "Superman Junior Defense League Of America" and upon doing so, one received a club badge. Right margin has 1/8" and .25" spots of insect damage, mainly affecting blank white margin. Card o/w remains bright and clean. Good. This is the toughest Superman card set to assemble.
