Item Description
Lot of two items from 1938 for an extensive series of 240 cardboard "Seals" (discs), each 2.25" dia. and issued one per purchase of a 1¢ gum pack (along w/a colored rubber band). There were seven categories of subject matter: Aircraft Insignia, Animals, Colleges, Dogs, Flags, Indians, Pirates. Each was numbered and designed to be linked together to create such things as a belt, Indian head dress, vest, various decorations, etc. ACC #R123. Paper sign is 11x16.5". Includes example images of two Indian discs along w/images of the things that could be created w/the seals. Text includes "Read About The Newest Hobby Of All." Wear as originally folded w/four 1" splits that have archival tape repairs on reverse. Small .25x5" piece missing at top left and tiny 1/8" piece missing on one Indian image. Lt. aging to the paper. Still have a clean appearance for display. VG and Rare. 1.5" long unopened gum pack has example images on back of Indian and pirate seals. Front has few tiny surface paper flakes from rubber band that was once stuck to it. Otherwise as issued.
