Item Description
Complete set of six 10.75x15.75" thin artboards that feature original pen and ink art for six-page story that appeared in "The Twilight Zone" #46, published by Gold Key in Nov., 1972. Art is for "The Great Sale" story featuring art by Wayne Howard w/inks by Sal Trapani. Each page has handwritten "T. Zone #46" title/issue number at top as well as page numbers, indicating this story ran on pages 25-30, though five pages have trims to top, some partially or totally removing text, though not affecting art. First page has "The Twilight Zone" title paste-over as well as pasted photostat of "The Twilight Zone" host Rod Serling and some scattered text paste-overs, while majority of text is hand-lettered. Story features con-man panhandling only to be thrown out of town and meeting insect-like aliens who then abduct him. The con-man in turn "sells" the aliens a river for some rubies, for which he is suspected of stealing and imprisoned. All the while, the aliens have sampled some of the river's water and noted the effects on their dry lands, and head back to Earth for more. Art has some scattered white correctional fluid and lt. aging, but art remains VF-Exc. overall.
