Item Description
16.75x26.75" wood frame w/Plexiglas over archival mat reveals 9x18" India ink image area w/gouache and litho crayon shading. Art was published in "Mad" magazine #252 in Jan., 1985 as second/third pages of "After The Game Is Over" story written by Lou Silverstone. First panel has excited youngster at baseball game quoting numerous stats. Second panel has him being scolded by angry teacher and getting an "F" for not remembering simple historical fact as kids laugh in bkg. Each panel has been signed in ink by Jack Davis. Comes w/pair of 4x6" color photos of the artist holding and signing this original. Margins have a few red felt tip pen notes. Left margin has large area of faint moisture staining, but majority of image area is o/w clean and VF/Exc. Well drawn.
