Item Description
Thin art board has 15.25x22.5” India ink image area w/eight panels for May 16, 1965. Storyline is dream sequence w/Groggins as explorer and Christopher Columbus at NYC wharf trying to find some Indians. A few drunks from local bar show up dressed as Indians, including one smoking cigar, Signed by creator “R. Van Buren” in ink in last panel, complete w/United Feature copyright sticker. Exc. Well drawn example by the noted illustrator who began the strip in 1937 w/Al Capp as writer.
