Item Description
18.5x18.75" stiff paper envelope contain w/complete parts for kite by The Aero-Kite Company of Chicago, IL. "Jet-Propelled, Kite That Flies Like An Aeroplane." ©1946. Also came in a long box but this is much nicer variety in large and graphic envelope. Die-cut stiff paper parts show lt. aging and have been neatly assembled. All pieces are lightly aged and have lt. scattered handling wear/dust soiling. VF. Envelope shows scattered aging/dust soiling/wear w/.25" tear and .75" tears at top corners, the larger w/tape repair. Fine. Scarce. Comes w/6.5" dia. w/1" depth "Flying Saucer" design consisting of two stiff paper plates that are connected around rim by metal band. Each side has same design in bwr depicting back of Buck's head as he sits in a cockpit of spaceship and looks out window to see planets and stars. Around rims are illustrations of spaceships and planets. c. 1940s. S.P. Co. Both sides have lightly tanned w/age (slightly more noticeable along edges) w/a few lt. creases to edges as made. .75" area of surface paper left on one side, not greatly detracting and blends somewhat. Fine/VF.
