Item Description
25.25x38" glossy paper poster shows American soldier talking to French woman w/British soldier by his side. Text reads "Three Victor Records That Will Teach You To Speak French Correctly In Cases Of Emergency - Ask For Descriptive Booklet And Demonstration." Poster was designed for American soldiers going to France during World War I and was likely displayed in local music shops and department store record departments. Famous Victor Nipper logo in corner. Poster shows obvious wear w/1x1.75" triangular piece missing at lower left and numerous archival tape repairs to back of margins. Top has 1" corner missing and scattered soiling. VG. Unusual as its message was commercial in nature as opposed to the more commonly seen patriotic posters of the era.
