7x22.5” thin art board w/6.25x22.25” India ink image area w/four panels for Oct.11. Art is titled “1. Am I Sheein’ Things?” in pencil in top left margin. Daisy Mae and Abner are pulling a bag apart w/“Somethin’ Alive In Thar!!” Daisy yells “Shmoos!!” as two Shmoos smile at each other. Abner thinks they’re boy Shmoos, but they find one is a “She-Shmoo!!” Tree in second panel has name “Nancy O” in trunk. Last panel is signed by creator “Al Capp” in ink. Reverse side has 3.25” tall pencil sketch of angry Shmoo. Panel two has United Feature Syndicate copyright strip. Trace of lt. dust soil, extreme blank margin edges are lightly tanned from previous framing, art board is slightly wavy. Image area otherwise near Exc. A prime, early and historic example, as Abner and Daisy thought Shmoos were almost extinct until they discover this female.
