Item Description
12-3/8x20" artboard has original mixed media art depicting the main box lid art for 1960s 1/72 scale Lindberg model kit No. 584 featuring the Nazi German Heinkel He 100, a pre-World War II fighter aircraft that despite proving to be one of the fastest fighter aircraft in the world at the time of its development, the design was not ordered into series production. Approximately 19 prototypes and pre-production machines were built. None are known to have survived the war. Art shows the warplane in the air, having just shot down two British planes. Art clearly shows the plane's straight-armed Balkenkreuz markings as well as art depicting a dagger stabbing a hat. Art is unsigned. Image area measures 9-3/8x17.5". Margins have production notations, printing labels and scattered staple holes that could be easily matted out. Art is NM and would look stunning framed. Impressive model kit art.
