Item Description
13x22" artboard w/attached paper overlay (top overlay marked "U.S.S. Olympia B-240") has original mixed media art depicting the main box lid art for 1967 Pyro Plastics 1/240 scale model kit featuring the USS Olympia, classified as an armored cruiser, best known as Commodore George Dewey's flagship at the Battle of Manila Bay during the Spanish-American War. Art shows the ship at sea. Art is signed by A.J. Rudisill, an internationally-acclaimed artist whose original acrylic paintings of landscapes and seascapes have been exhibited at major galleries throughout the country. Earlier in his career Rudisill provided stunning model kit box art, such as this one offered here. Large image area takes up most of the board, w/exception of thin strips at top and bottom margins. Artboard has some corner tip wear, but main art area remains NM and would look stunning framed. Impressive model kit art.
