Item Description
John Zacherle served as the host of Philadelphia, PA. WCAU-TV Channel 10's show "Shock Theater" from Oct. 7, 1957 to Sept. 13, 1958. The shows quickly became popular w/Zacherle playing his Zacherle/Roland host character. Dick Clark supposedly gave Zacherle the nickname "The Cool Ghoul." In 1958, Zacherle cut "Dinner With Drac" for Cameo Records and moved to NYC television where his shows included the 1960s "Chiller Theatre" on WPIX, New York. Offered here is a set of three 3.5" dia. buttons featuring catchphrases related to Zacherle's shows. Text reads "I Like Roland, My Dear" and "Where's Igor?". The "My Dear" button refers to his wife and Igor, his lab assistant. All show lt. wear/aging but remain glossy and Fine. Scarce as a set.
