Item Description
The X-Men, created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby in 1963, were not a big hit when they started. The first run lasted 66 issues and than it went into reprints for a while It wasn’t until 1975 and, later, the arrival of Chris Claremont, that the team became the icons they are today. In retrospect, all the ingredients for success were actually there from the beginning. This issue features a great cover from Jack Kirby. The Sub-Mariner, just as much an outsider as the young mutants, seems to be joining the wrong side. The interior art is handled by Kirby and Chris Stone> the pages are off-white. This unrestored book is CGC-certified 9.0 (VF/NM).
