Item Description
Each is 16” black vinyl 33-1/3 rpm in original RCA envelope titled “Electrical Transcription One Victrolac Record”. Labels include title and text “The Comic Weekly Program Produced by Langlois & Wentworth For Hearst Newspapers”. Includes Program #1 MS89636, #3 MS 89695, #6 MS 89969, #19 MS 94031, #20 MS 94081, #21 MS 94082. Reverse sides are for “The American Weekly Program Front Page Drama”. Begun April 22, 1935, the 26-episode weekly radio serial followed the strip very closely, amounting to a week-by-week adaptation of the Sunday strip for most of its run. The series starred Gale Gordon and ended Oct. 26 with Flash and Dale’s marriage. A new series, “The Further Interplanetary Adventures of Flash Gordon”, began Oct. 28 and ran until Feb. 6, 1936. Original sleeves are worn. Good. Discs have typical surface wear and aging. Fine. Interesting group w/limited distribution, not available to the public.
