Item Description
5.5x8.5"16-page booklet that was only available via mail order. 1974. Series A booklet, complete w/all 100 different stamps, each printed in Marvel Comics of the day, designed to be cut out of the comics and glued into this album. Given the sheer amount of stamps in this series, obtaining them all was a difficult task. As these comic book stamps were meant to be cut out, it had a detrimental effect on the value of those comics now, especially "The Incredible Hulk" #180-182, which featured the first story that introduced popular X-Men character Wolverine. Some characters in this series include - Spider-Man, Hulk, Conan, Thing, Thor, Captain America, Power Man, Daredevil, Dr. Strange, Iron Man, Falcon, Human Torch, Black Widow, Red Skull, Invisible Girl, Mr. Fantastic, Red Sonja, Iron Fist, Green Goblin, Black Panther, Sub-Mariner, Iceman, Cyclops, Marvel Girl, Vision, Silver Surfer, Electro, Dr. Octopus and many more. Last pages has "This Space Reserved For The Rarest Marvel Value Stamp Of All" which was #100 - Galactus - and goes on to read "Who'd You Think We Were Gonna Feature? Millie The Model?" Stamps feature art by the likes of Jack Kirby, Steve Ditko and John Romita Sr. Back cover has spaces provided for nine additional stamps that were to be acquired at "Comic-Art Conventions." These remain unused, but all stamps in the regular series are present. Book has some handling wear and rippling to pages due to moisture from glue. Covers have some aging. Front cover has additional Incredible Hulk cut out pasted below his cover image and back cover has corner crease. Fine overall, but stamps remain Exc. as applied.
