Item Description
15x19.5" thin artboard has original pen and ink art by noted comic artist Mac Raboy, known for his work on Fawcett Comics' "Captain Marvel Jr." and as the Sunday strip artist of "Flash Gordon" for over 20 years. Offered here is Raboy's original art for Nov. 3, 1957 eight panel strip that features Flash Gordon in five panels. Story deals w/Gyromen attacking floating city being piloted by Flash. The city falls but is saved, allowing for the Wheel People and the Gyromen to enter an alliance. Zarkov is seen w/Flash in last panel along w/Dale Arden, who is grabbed by the hands of an unseen assailant, likely one of the Rubbermen, as last panel has "Next Week - Return Of The Rubbermen!" title paste-over. Raboy has signed his name in pencil below last panel. Some scattered editorial notations in margins which have some slight aging but o/w art areas remain clean and Exc.
