Item Description
7.5x8" album opens to 32” in length and has four inside panels. Complete set of 32 labels have been neatly mounted at appropriate spots. 1950s. This album has imprint of "Bond Bread" and is variant that comes with (and shows on the artwork) a pair of "Magic Glasses" as opposed to version that showed/included just a red transparent sheet called a "Magic Viewer." Panels include additional illustrations around the mounted labels featuring related themes such as jungle animals, pirates and Eskimos. Labels feature images including Captain Kidd, Buffalo Bill, Jungle Explorer/King Cobra, Jet Plane, Jolly Roger, Jesse James, Caveman/Saber-toothed Tiger, Admiral Peary, Daniel Boone, Custer, Lindbergh, others. Of note to sports collectors are labels featuring Sullivan vs. Corbett and Babe Ruth. Each label includes block of related text asking a question w/image revealed by using the glasses. This includes “Who Was The Greatest Home Run Hitter Of All Time/Babe Ruth.” Back panel of album has additional question/images revealed by the glasses and bread ad. Glasses have scattered aging, few tiny creases but lenses remain firmly intact. Fine. Album has moderate scattered wear/aging, mostly along folds/edges and inside front has archival tape repair along fold. Fine. Labels show very little wear and are overall Exc. to NM as mounted. An exceptional bread label album and rare as complete. The only other complete album we have offered in our 47 years sold for $1,043.
