1.5x2.25" card from the second of three annual issues during the Puerto Rican League winter seasons, these cards are similar to the previous year's set. 216 cards in the set. Glossy bw photo front w/text on back in red which serves as a "Play" designation for use as a card game. Text on this card is "Bombo Al Pitcher- Out." Front features bold and sharp image of Day in his "Santurce" uniform. Cards from these sets were to be mounted in a corresponding album (see item #1132). This card was once mounted and has some traces of surface paper adhered to back (but not surface paper loss). The front is clean and glossy w/sharp corners. Visually displaying much higher than the designated grade which is based on the previous mounting. Front of card has great eye appeal. A fantastic rookie card for this Negro League legend and member of the National Baseball HOF, and one of the key cards in this set. Last auction we sold a SGC 20 Fair 1.5 example of this card for $1,467. Designated by SGC as being from the "Richard Merkin Collection" and comes with Hake's COA.
