Item Description
10.5x16" thin artboard featuring original pen and ink art by popular comic book artist John Byrne, best known for his work on Marvel Comics' "X-Men" and "Fantastic Four" and the 1986 relaunch of DC Comics' "Superman" franchise. Offered here is the original art for page 22 of "Marvel Team-Up" #65, published by Marvel Comics in Jan. 1978. Issue was written by Chris Claremont w/interior art by Byrne and inks/colors by Dave Hunt. From "Introducing, Captain Britain" story, this six-panel page shows profile image of masked Captain Britain at left of top panel w/rest of panels showing him in civilian clothes escaping gunfire on a motorcycle only to be confronted by The Reaver's hovercraft, wrecking his motorcycle off cliff. Grease pencil issue/page number at top margin. Corners each have 1" clip, but this affects art/text in no way. Aged strip of tape at top center w/tape staining at bottom center, neither affecting art. Upper left margin has 2.5" strip of tape staining, slightly affecting art that breaks the panel. Scattered lt. handling wear/aging w/some white correctional fluid touch-ups, but if matted and framed, art would display VF. From the collection of comic book inker Dave Hunt.
