Item Description
First is 3x9". "Spring Garden/Temperance/We Touch Not, Taste Not, Handle Not, Whatever Intoxicates" appears above fountain with "Our Drink." at base. Verse at bottom reads "Water, Cold Water, Bright Sparkling With Glee,/The Gift Of Our God, And The Drink Of The Free." Also "Beneficial Association/Instituted January 1838/" Tan stains and vertical stresses but no splits. VG. Second is 2.25x8.5". "Morrisville/Bucks Co./Temperance/Society." Graphic of lady holding glass by waterfall. Holds "Pledge" in other hand. Thin fabric has small areas missing with archival tape restoration on reverse. Fair. Third is 2.5x6.5". "Marion/Total Abstinence/Society/Our Cause Is Glorious & Will Prevail" above graphic of lady holding lengthy "Pledge" with remains of a serpent at her feet. Text below "Temperance & Real Reform/Formed Jany 6th 1841/April 5th 1841." Dark stains and small piece off bottom. Good. Last is 2.5x4.5". "Temperance" appears above illustration of lady with pledge text in one hand in front of well and standing on snake's head. Beneficial/Association/Tyng Branch./No. 10." below. Couple small tan dots above woman. 95% clean. Fine.
