Item Description
17.75x22.5" high quality wood frame contains original ink and watercolor art that has been triple-matted to 10.75x15-3/8". Done by Beck in 1977 and based on cover originally done by Walt Kelly for "Four Color" #253 comic book in 1949. Hand-lettered title. Main scene is based on the Old Woman Who Lived in a Shoe showing her watching children hang giant stocking from roof as Santa Claus and reindeer pull sleigh in moonlit bkg. sky. Cat plays fiddle in foreground as dog howls. Left border design has nursery rhyme characters theme. Bright and Exc. While C.C. Beck is most well known for creating Captain Marvel and Captain Tootsie, this is an outstanding original. Ready for display as professionally framed under UV glass. From the Robert M. Overstreet Collection and comes with COA.
