5-3/8x8-3/8" w/100 pages. Famous Enterprises Inc. 1947. Written by Stan Lee, Marvel Comics founding father and creator of many famous super heroes (Spider-Man, X-Men, Incredible Hulk). Features illustrations of Captain America and Bucky, Millie the Model and The Blonde Phantom among many others. Two pages shows actual Marvel comic book covers - "Captain America" #65 and "Marvel Comics" #47, w/a full page devoted to image of Captain America and his sidekick Bucky. Text deals w/various aspects of comic book production. Back cover features personal message from Lee to comic book readers. Book was advertised in Timely Comics (precursor to Marvel Comics) upon publication. Features text illustrations by Ken Bald and profiles on Syd Shores, Mike Sekowsy, Al Jaffee and Martin Goodman as well as a feature on the creation of Captain America. Cover is aged and has corner tip wear w/.25" tear at top margin of front cover. Fine w/clean, VF/NM pages.
