Item Description
All are copyright 1947 Edgar Rice Burroughs Inc. Each thin art board has 5x18.75” India ink image area w/individual sequence number and four panels titled on back in blue pencil. Includes #2302 “Like A Jungle Battle” w/Tarzan tackling gorilla, #2324 “Saurian’s Strategy” w/Tarzan searching water as alligators approach, #2326 “Momentary Advantage” w/Tarzan putting log in gator’s mouth to keep him from snapping. Tarzan is in eight of 24 panels. All are signed in ink “Rex Maxon”. All text captions are in Spanish on applied cut-out papers, easily removable to reveal English text. Blank margins have a few editorial notes and lt. aging. Image areas will frame to near Exc. appearance. Superb examples by Maxon, who drew most of the Tarzan dailies from 1929 through 1947.
