Item Description
All are soft cover. Sizes range from 6x9” to 7-1/8x10.25” w/an average page count of 60. No illustrations. First is “The Journal of Experimental Education” Vol. 10 #2 for Dec. 1941 w/three different articles on comic books including data on various superhero titles and comic strips. Next are three issues of “The Journal of Educational Sociology”. Dec. 1944 (one plus duplicate issue) has cover subtitled “The Comics As An Educational Medium” w/contents devoted entirely to comics w/seven articles including “What’s In The Comics?” by Josette Frank and lengthy related bibliography. Dec. 1949 issue has cover subtitled “Comics As Reading For Children” w/contents devoted entirely to comics. Five articles include titles “Delinquency: Cause Or Scapegoat?, Censorship Or Self Regulation?”. Last publication is c. 1941 coverless issue of “Wilson Library Bulletin” which includes two page letter from librarian titled “The Comic Menace” w/reference to “Big Little Superman Books”. First four magazines have a few lt. creases and minor cover aging. Fine/VF. Last title is Fair and just comes along. Fascinating reading throughout. Extremely limited distribution.
