Item Description
7'7" tall, 44" wide, 6'10" long restored carnival ride Batman helicopter seat on base measuring 43x44" long. Helicopter body measures 44x44" wide. Ride started as part of a Allen Herschell Mfg. (same company that made the carousels) carnival ride from the 1950s-1960s. A custom base w/locking wheels was made to safely hold several small children or an adult in the seat. Entire helicopter and base has been powder-coated to resist chipping if bumped. All the graphics are custom-made vinyl for the helicopter, and the seat is new silver sparkle metal flake vinyl. Graphics include "Batcopter" name on tail boom and batsymbols on base. Additionally, both sides and front of helicopter feature "Batman" comic book title logo of the 1970s. There is a batsignal image on the inside of the canopy, which has additional sounds effect word graphics on top and large cartoon image of Batman on back. The entire ride breaks down into smaller components - prop lifts off, the piece that holds the prop unbolts from body and tail also unbolts. The canopy unbolts and folds into the body and the body unbolts and slides off the base, making it much easier to get into a smaller door than you would think. A most interesting piece for the Batman collector that has everything. A great companion piece to the Batmobile coin-operated ride we offered in a previous auction.
