Item Description
Lot of eight, each 2-3/8x2-7/8" ©1937. ACC# R23. Issued to promote BLB's, there are a total of 224 cards in this set featuring seven different characters each in a 32-card subset. These are from the Popeye subset which is numbered 65-96. Cards in this lot are: 65-68,70,72,75,76. Popeye is featured on six of these cards, other characters include Wimpy, Olive Oyl, Salty and Sally. Bottom margin of #72 has slight trim. #65 has faint creases, VG. Other cards have lt. margin aging and corner tip wear. Bright, clean art. Exc. The scarcity of these cards make it one of the most difficult 1930s sets to complete.
