16x40x.25" thick screen-printed store demonstrator board features full display of 70 soft plastic figures measuring between .75" to 3" tall. 1950s. Comes w/original Marx shipping carton, which is complete w/original cardboard inserts. Box notes this item was shipped from from the Marx home offices in New York City to the Marx factory in Glendale, WV. Carton shows heavy and obvious aging and dust soiling and is just Good. Demonstrator comes w/two aluminum brackets for upright display and has figures in six different colors, including some colors that actual figures were never produced in (dark green). Included are 35 Disney character figures including - Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Pluto, characters from Dumbo, Peter Pan, Alice In Wonderland, Pinocchio as well as Snow White and all Seven Dwarfs. Additionally, set has 27 comic character figures displayed, including characters from Blondie, Maggie and Jiggs, Popeye, Snuffy Smith, Little Orphan Annie, Li' Abner and Dick Tracy. Display is completed by eight space figures, including a robot. Figures have been attached to board w/staples as issued and as such, three figures have some minor damage, w/feet and/or base broke off of Alice, March Hare and Geppeto. Dagwood has crack to base, but o/w rest of figures are NM as issued and demonstrator makes for a wonderful, VF display overall w/some lt. edge/corner tip wear. From the John Bowers Collection.
