Item Description
13x15" wooden frame has 7.5x9.75" opening revealing ink and oil painting original art with full figure Donald looking into mirror at image of his toilet bowl plunger stuck on his tail. Blue ballpoint caption at top of scene reads "Donald Is Skeptical About His New Tail!" Painting is signed in full at lower right in oil pint. Painting was framed by Hannah himself and reverse side of top frame area has title hand-lettered by him "Donald's New Tail 917-27," likely a reference to the animated sequence from which this image was taken. Based on a scene from a 1936 short Moving Day. Painting itself was done c. 1990. Also offered with the painting and as originally obtained is a n 8.5x14" parchment paper sheet reading "26 Donald Duck By Jack Hannah" along with gold crest including crown with repeated Mickey head silhouette. In 1992 Hannah was honored as a Disney legend and 8 of the 75 cartoons he directed were nominated for Academy Awards. Art is N. Mint.
