Item Description
39.75" tall solid body double neck 6/12 string electric guitar by Danelectro, a company founded in 1947. Throughout the late 1940s, Danelectro produced amplifiers for Sears, Roebuck and Company and Montgomery Ward. In 1954, Danelectro started producing the Danelectro lines of solid body electric guitars and amplifiers. The company was also contracted to make guitars and amplifiers that were branded w/the names of various store brands, such as Silvertone and Airline. In 1969, the Danelectro plant was closed, due to new owner's MCA's attempt to market Danelectros to small guitar shops rather than large department stores resulting in declining sales. In 2006, yet another new owner decided on a new marketing model for the guitars, selling a limited number of guitars each year. This is a vintage 1990s reissue made in Korea w/Dano Lipstick Pickups and factory Gotoh tuners. Guitar has a Metallic Blue Burst finish. Guitar is in working order, 12 strings producing a Rickenbacker-esque sound. Exc./NM. Comes w/original Danelectro hard-shell road case which is Exc.
