Item Description
This ring is c. 1934 and back in Auction #191 when we first offered it, we called it our “First Major Premium Ring Discovery” in many years. Made of silvered brass with trademark of maker Uncas on the inner surface of the adjustable bands. Upper sides have 4 grooved horizontal steps with “Good” on one side and “Luck” on the other side with both words running vertically along the upper bands. Ring top features detailed portrait of Chandu in a turban. Initials “O” and “B” are at the top corners with “Chandu Club” below the image. We are still uncertain if this is radio related and from sponsors Beech-Nut Gum or White King Soap or if it is related to the 1934 serial starring Bela Lugosi in the title role “The Return Of Chandu.” Barely seen luster loss from edges of the overlapping bands. NM displaying Mint.
