Item Description
Each of these buttons is 1" or a little smaller. Some may look similar but these are varieties as noted in pencil beneath the button. Majority of these picture Santa Claus. The buttons 1917 and earlier were issued by American Red Cross. There are two varieties for 1911, two varieties for 1912, two different makers for 1914, a 1915, and two different varieties for 1917. The 1912 button in the top row has very tiny cello rub on top edge but all the rest of these are NM to Mint. The earliest Christmas Seal design begins in 1920. Additional celluloid buttons in this series cover 1921 through 1926 and several have two varieties. Litho buttons in this series also begin in 1926. Additional years in the group, some with variations, are 1927 through 1930, 1932 through 1934. The 1935 button has poor paint. The series picks up again with 1936, 1938 through 1942. 1944. 1946. 1948 through 1950. 1959. 1966. 1968. 1969. 1971. 1973. 1975. Vast majority are in bright, clean condition with very minor exceptions. An advanced collection.
