Item Description
1936. 9.5" long balsa wood/cardboard die-cut rocket ship w/metal weight in front for flying. Printed balsa wood shows Buck Rogers and Wilma Deering in rocket ship window on each side. One side reads "Buck Rogers - Rocket Ship" and the other reads "Grape-Nut Flakes Hits The Spot." Instructions are printed inside tail fins. Lt. corrosion on staple. Comes w/original 2.5x9.75" plain envelope. Also 3.5" wood stick w/original hardened rubber band. Rocket ship is Mint. Hake's Pop Culture Memorabilia Guide mentions Mrs. Carl's Bread and Cream of Wheat varieties of this toy. Only the second we've offered of this Grape-Nut Flakes variety in our 47 years (our last example sold for $885). Rare.
