Item Description
5.75" tall heavy glazed ceramic stein produced by Nassau China Co. of Trenton, NJ. for the Class of 1971. Stein has "United States Naval Academy" name at top and large "1971" date w/striking image of a topless Batgirl (as painted by pin-up artist Alberto Vargas for the July, 1966 issue of "Playboy" magazine) charging forth, carrying a flag that reads "34." Batgirl steps on a banana, though we are unsure of the exact connotation. Additional text reading "Dynamic Duo To The Rescue" references the bare-breasted Batgirl in humorous fashion. Backside of stein has "U.S. Naval Academy" coat of arms and "Elisabeth" name at top/ NM. Very unusual and the first example we've seen.
