Item Description
Both are early 1940s. Ship is 10" long by 4.5" long painted plaster. Side of ship reads "447." Coin slot between smoke stacks. Made by Novelty Mfg. Co. Long paper label titled “Destroyer Bank” is attached to underside w/text including "When Full, Open And Go To The Nearest Bank Or Post Office And Buy A War Bond To Aid Our Country's War Effort”. A few scattered chips. Displays Fine. Three side panels from original box come along. “Bomb Bank” is 7” tall scarcer variety molded cardboard composition version made by W.H. Long Co. (most of the banks we have seen in this style are molded plaster). Side sticker text includes “ Bomb The Japs From Your Own Home!” Underside has makers sticker. Top tips have edge wear. Fine.
