Item Description
See previous item #1945. Pages have original pen and ink art w/ink wash by comic book artist Sonny Trinidad for "Dracula Lives!" comic magazine issue #9 published by Marvel Comics in Nov., 1974. "Twice Dies The Vampire" story was written by Gerry Conway w/gorgeous Gothic interior art by Trinidad. Art is for pages 51 and 53. Art again shows Dracula in Madrid, Spain engaging in a battle of wits w/Carlos Muerte, who is in fact Death. First page shows chase scene w/Dracula being caught in the sun, disintegrating into a skeleton and then to ash. Next page shows Dracula undead and well, kissing vampire woman and confronting Muerte, who removes his top hat to reveal a skull. Dracula (or his skeleton/ashes) is shown in 13 of the 14 panels. A few penciled notations at margins. Reverse of each page has Marvel Comics Group copyright stamp and onionskin overlay w/editorial notes. Pages have lt. aging at margins but are o/w Exc. Wonderfully illustrated.
