Item Description
Quartz is an abundant mineral in the Earth's continental crust. There are many different varieties of quartz, several of which are semi-precious gemstones. Throughout the world, varieties of quartz have been, since antiquity, the most commonly used minerals in the making of jewelry and hardstone carvings. The ideal crystal shape is a six-sided prism terminating w/six-sided pyramids at each end. In nature quartz crystals are often twinned, distorted, or so intergrown w/adjacent crystals as to only show part of this shape, or to lack obvious crystal faces altogether and appear massive. We are offering a crystal clear example w/the two primary crystals measuring 5.5" and 4" long/tall. Overall the cluster measures 5x7.25x4.25" tall and weighs just under 4 lbs. This example came from Corinto, a Brazilian municipality located in the northeast of the state of Minas Gerais.
