Item Description
8.75x11-3/8" faux leather-bound hardcover w/248 pages. Menlo-Atherton High School, Atherton, CA. This is Buckingham's Junior yearbook and Nick's Senior. Both have the typical school portraits within, Buckingham also being featured in the Water Polo, Varsity Swimming and "B" Swimming team photos as well as in the "Boys' Block Society" photo. Nicks appears w/her date to the 1966 Senior Ball and is listed as "Stephanie Nicks" in her "High Spirits" Glee Club photo. Both later joined Fleetwood Mac, the British-American rock band formed in 1967. Buckingham was recruited to Fleetwood Mac from his band Buckingham Nicks, joining on the condition that his musical partner/girlfriend, Stephanie "Stevie" Nicks, also become part of the band. What followed was one of the most successful periods for Fleetwood Mac (1975-1987), which featured a more pop-oriented sound, and featured Christine McVie, Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks. Fleetwood Mac's second album after the incorporation of Nicks and Buckingham, 1977's "Rumours," produced four US Top 10 singles (including Nicks' song "Dreams", which was the band's first and only US number one) and remained at the top of the American albums chart for 31 weeks, as well as reaching the top spot in various countries around the world. To date the album has sold over 40 million copies worldwide, making it the eighth highest selling album of all time. The album was a result of the turmoil within the band, the breakups of Buckingham and Nicks as well as John and Christine McVie and the high consumption of drugs and alcohol. Yearbook shows lt. cover wear and has typical inked inscriptions throughout. Fine/VF. Great insight to what was to come for one of the most popular bands of the 1970s and 1980s.
