Item Description
10.75x16.5" thin artboard featuring original pen and ink art by comic artist Kevin Nowlan for "The New Defenders" issue #149 published by Marvel Comics in Nov., 1985. Issue was written by Peter Gillis w/interior art by Don Perlin, Nowlan only contributing the cover for this issue. Nowlan is an American comic-book artist who works as a penciler/inker/colorist and letterer. He has been called a master of the various disciplines of comic production, from "Design To Draftsmanship To Dramatics" and his work has been featured in Marvel, DC and various independent comic book publisher's comics. Art shows founding X-Men members Angel along w/Beast in the cockpit of Angel's jet as Defenders teammate Cloud's powers go out of control, lightning exploding from her body. Angel wears sunglasses as he was blind at this time. Art has cover mock-up, complete w/paste-on Marvel indica at upper left corner and paste-on title. Various inked notations on margins, which have been signed in pencil by Nowlan at lower right. Art comes w/reading copy of the actual comic book this art was produced for. Also comes w/frame and displays VF/Exc. Great cover image featuring two X-Men.
