Item Description
This collection of 41 buttons and one cloth patch completely fills a 12x16" glass display frame. The buttons are from 1972 most with the official copyright designation "© 1972 T.P.I." Most items are a slogan or picture of Archie Bunker but there is one large button picturing "America's Foist Family" and two smaller buttons picturing Edith Bunker. The collection breaks down into four different size groups. There are ten buttons 3" to 3.5" plus one patch. Of these there are a pair of 3" buttons, one with star design on rim and one with maple leaf design on rim which shows some age. The first has some yellowing while the second has a couple of scratches and small dots. The next group of buttons are seven which measure 2-1/8". One of these at far right in our photo has tanned. Next are a group of seven very scarce 1-5/8" litho buttons. One of these reading "Intellectuals" has oxidation on reverse but little showing on front. Finally are 17 buttons which are 1.5" or smaller. Of the 42 pieces only four show some age and the rest display Exc. to Mint. Numerous items we've not seen before. See following related lot.
